| Description | The Position: The position will be based in the Almaty office in the Petroleum Engineering Department. The geophysicist will be responsible for the interpretation of all geophysical data and managing geophysical projects. In conjunction with the team geologists you will be responsible for construction and updating of geological models and identification of possible infill targets and near field exploration opportunities. • Working as part of the development team, identify further development opportunities through further evaluation of geophysical/geological data. • Help the teams meet or exceed budget volumes targets through active input to reservoir management decisions. • Help plan and execute development wells by providing input to well targets and well planning and provide support to geosteering decisions. • Recommendations for further work/projects e.g. 3D seismic acquisition and (re-) processing, and 4D seismic. | ||
| Skills | • Hold an MSc/PhD and demonstrable experience in the oil industry. • Be innovative with strong communication and analytical skills. • Be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English. • Possess a strong seismic interpretation background with specific knowledge of production geophysics. In addition you will have significant knowledge of AVO, inversion, seismic attributes VSP, depth conversion, and seismic acquisition and processing, along with some exposure to 4D seismic. A working knowledge of sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy and geological modelling would be beneficial. | ||
