Purpose of Job:
• The primary purpose of this job is to work with the safety advisors to raise their levels of competence through on the job training and coaching.
• To undertake contractor and the Company safety inspections and hazard assessments of high-risk activities.
• To develop and implement the requirements for contractor safety advisors and officers and site safety supervision.

Principle Accountabilities:
• Provides HSE advice to contractors and monitor proper implementation of HSE policies, procedures and plan (eg. HSE Plans, HSE Cases and Audit Plans) to achieve improvement of the contractor HSE Performance.
• Conduct a gap analysis and develop an implementation plan for adoption of the HSE Global processes within BSP and identify the resources and activities to meet the plan.
• Actively motivate contractors in HSE improvement and encourage diligent implementation of HSE standards and practices, working with and through the appointed contract holders and line HSE Focal Points.
• To work with and involve the Company and contractor HSE advisors to raise their level in competence through on the job training when conducting these activities.
• Feedback & cascade information between the contractors and Asset Units to the Corporate HSE organisation, to either influence changes in corporate strategy or implement corporate directives. This includes proposals for the development of HSE policies, objectives, strategies, plans, initiatives, standards and procedures.
• Lead (and provide coaching to HSE advisors) internal contractor HSE audits, and reviews and contractor HSE MS evaluations. To assist with other verification and evaluation activities where requested.
• Participate in the contractor HSE meetings, incident reviews & participate in the formal investigation of contractor high potential incidents.
• Mentoring & developing young Bruneian staff will be an integral part of the job.
SkillsSkill/Competence:
• Extensive experience in working with contractors.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with staff at various levels and various background.
• Experience in strategic development and implementation of HSE initiatives, standards and procedures.
• Experience in conducting incident investigations.
• Have participated in and/or contributed to HSE Audits.

Minimum Qualifications and experience required:
• A university degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years relevant working experience.
