Chevron North America Exploration & Production is accepting online applications for the position of Development Geologist – Gas Asset Development, located in Houston, Texas, USA. Overview: MCA has embarked on a massive tight gas sands development project in South Texas, focused in the Wilcox and Vicksburg trends. The project is the result of new seismic prospecting techniques using reprocessed seismic data on mature acreage. The position will be responsible for identification of new fault block opportunities and quantification of potential bypassed low-resistive pay. We have recently tested several zones that calculate no pay on conventional logs, but produce commercial gas. We are currently maturing a continuous rig program across South Texas with a large portion of the wells in the Lobo trend. Key Responsibilities: • Development well planning and execution. • Seismic interpretation. • Leading reprocessing efforts. • Identifying new 3D seismic opportunities. • Formation evaluation of low resistive pay. • Mapping of planned and prospective horizons. • Reservoir depletion planning. • Formation evaluation and planning for and managing reservoir surveillance programs or new well, sidetrack and workover planning. | ||
| Skills | Required Qualifications: • Master’s Degree in Geology or Geophysics. • Familiarity with development geology work processes and the ability to integrate well, seismic and production data to evaluate reservoirs. • Demonstrated reservoir management skills such as reservoir mapping, modeling and characterization. • Adept at volumetric, reserve and risk assessments. | ||
