Overview of Position: The successful candidate will provide technical geophysical support and risk assessment to the other Earth Scientists engaged in prospect generation and reserves recovery. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: • Applies geophysical tools (velocity, amplitudes, AVO modeling, rock physics, seismic processing, etc.) to assist earth scientists and engineers in prospect generation and reserves recovery. • Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies. • Maintains close ties with geophysical vendors and intra-company technology networks and leverages when appropriate. | ||
| Skills | Required Qualifications: In order to be considered for this job, applicants must have: • A Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics or Geology with a Geophysics emphasis. • Knowledge in a variety of geophysical areas and ability to apply this knowledge to reservoir characterization and management activities (i.e., attribute analysis, AVO, velocity, inversion, processing). • The ability to assist with planning and development. • Experience in workstation based 3-D seismic interpretation. • The ability to integrate geological/well data and 3D seismic to characterize reservoirs, handle synthetics, velocity models, and seismic attributes. • General earth science skills such as reservoir characterization and management; geologic/geophysical interpretation; risk and reserve assessments; asset plan development; well planning; data acquisition and analysis. • Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams. | ||
