Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for the position of BBLT (Benguela-Belize-Lobito-Tomboco) Development Earth Scientist, located in Houston, Texas.

Overview:

This Development Earth Scientist position will be on the BBLT subsurface team in Houston. The position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of geological and geophysical work undertaken by the Houston team.

Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
• Liaise with multi-disciplinary subsurface team members and Luanda earth scientists to oversee the construction and maintenance of 3-D geologic models using reservoir properties from seismic.
• Update and revise development strategies.
• Select well locations.
• Coordinate and review formation evaluation.
• Provide geologic technical support for reservoir surveillance, completion and remediation work.
• Mentor both National (Angolan) staff and other team members.
SkillsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geophysics
• Integrated Interpretation and Modeling experience.
• Seismic Interpretation skills: 3D seismic interpretation.
• Experience in mapping deep water turbidite channelized systems.
• Reservoir modeling experience.
• Geologic model building using seismic attributes & principal components analysis.
• Proficiency using GOCAD and Voxelgeo/Seisworks.
• Project management experience.
• Strong business focus and communication skills.
• Experience in the development and optimization of development strategies and reservoir management plans.
• Experience planning new field development assets.
• Experience in waterfloods, reservoir surveillance and monitoring programs.
• Experience in reserves booking.
• Good understanding of probabilistic reserves.
• Willingness and ability to support Reservoir Engineers in assessment and documentation of reserve bookings.

Preferred Qualifications:
• A Master's Degree in Geology or Geophysics.
