Overview of Position:

The Eunice Development Geologist is part of a multi-disciplinary field management team which includes production/operations engineering, reservoir engineering, earth science, field operations, land, facility engineering and drilling and completion engineering functions. The focus of this position is on providing geological leadership and support for enhancing base production through sound asset, reservoir and wellbore management. The Eunice Team manages Chevron’s assets in the Eunice and Carlsbad area in SE New Mexico. The team is responsible for managing one waterflood and numerous oil and gas wells in primary production. This position is based in Midland, Texas.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Overseeing reservoir/field mapping functions.
• Integrating multiple vintages and types of well log data and production data, to identify opportunities for production enhancement.
• Developing and evaluating workover opportunities.
SkillsRequired Qualifications:
In order to be considered for this job, applicants must have:

• A Master’s Degree in Geology or Geophysics.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geophysics, along with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience as an Earth Scientist may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s Degree.
• The ability to develop geology work processes and integrate well and production data to evaluate reservoirs.
• Demonstrated Reservoir Management skills, such as reservoir mapping and characterization.
• Volumetrics, reserve and risk assessment knowledge.
• Experience doing formation evaluation and planning for and managing reservoir surveillance programs on new wells and workovers.
• Proven ability to work with in a cross-functional team to perform detailed subsurface assessments, reservoir management plans and development proposals.
• Awareness of business drivers.
• Ability to perform reservoir risk assessments and assists with decision and economic analysis.
• General knowledge of project management concepts.

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:

• Solid verbal, written and oral presentation skills.
• Ability to develop effective presentations to support recommendations.
• Working knowledge of seismic interpretation and earth modeling.
