Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company is accepting online applications for the position of Development Geologist – Piceance Basin located in Houston, Texas. Overview: The MidContinent/Alaska Business Unit has embarked on a massive tight gas sands development project in the Piceance Basin in western Colorado. The field and reservoir development alternatives are being developed. The first two rigs are on location and drilling has begun. These rigs will be utilized for development of well pads to facilitate the generation of best practices for full-field development. Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: • Perform well planning and execution. • Map planned and prospective horizons and reservoir depletion. • Perform formation evaluations and uncertainty management planning. | ||
| Skills | Required (Basic) Qualifications: • A Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geophysics. • Familiar with development geology work processes. • Ability to integrate well and production data to evaluate reservoirs. • Reservoir Management skills such as reservoir mapping, modeling and characterization. • Proficient in volumetric, reserve and risk assessments. • Experience with formation evaluation. • Experience planning for and managing reservoir surveillance programs or new well, sidetrack and workover planning. • Willingness and ability to work with in a cross-functional team to perform detailed subsurface assessments, reservoir management plans, and development proposals. • Working knowledge of interpretation, modeling and other software depending on assignment. • Strong verbal, written and oral presentation skills. • Ability to develop effective presentations to support recommendations. Preferred Qualifications: • A Master’s degree in Geology or Geophysics. | ||
