| Description | Our Client is actively seeking to expand the portfolio of material prospects in new basins or plays through license round acquisition, JV opportunities and focused farm-in opportunities. The candidate for this position will be responsible, in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, for screening, prioritizing and evaluating those opportunities. Final deliverables will be an economic evaluation as basis for bid with high quality supporting technical/business evaluations. ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide engineering support (e.g. reserves estimation and development criteria for exploration opportunities. • Key member of a multi-disciplinary exploration team with the responsibility of screening and evaluating exploration opportunities in new basins or plays worldwide. • Generate and maintain Client-independent categorized reserve / contingent resource estimates and associated production projections using decline curve, material balance and volumetric recovery. calculation methods. • Generate economic and decision analysis of reserves resources and other investment opportunities using PEEP and/or Aries economics software and/or excel spreadsheets in support of value based decisions. | ||
| Skills | SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: • Experience in international evaluation required, exploration experience is desired. • Experience with reservoir engineering and field development as it relates to primary depletion, compaction drive, water drive and subsea developments. • Well-developed understanding of reservoir engineering principles of secondary/tertiary recovery processes and demonstrated ability to evaluate, monitor and forecast the performance of recovery enhancement projects (e.g. water/gas injection and infill drilling). • Experience in decision analysis techniques to evaluate oil and gas exploration opportunities. • Functional knowledge of petroleum geology, geophysics, drilling and production operation principles and their relation to practical reservoir management. • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a highly-collaborative team environment. • Effective oral and written communication skills. • Minimum 10 years experience in a reservoir engineering or surveillance role with at least 5 years experience in economic analysis in multiple fiscal regimes. • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective interactions within the team, within Client Corporation and with outside companies and government agencies. • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Powerpoint, PEEP and/or Aries economics software, OFM (query based databases) and Integrated Surface-Subsurface Network Modeling (IPM suite). • Solid exploration experience in one or two of the following areas: Middle East, Africa, Australia, South America, Arctic, Europe, India or Far East. • International travel is required to view and evaluate New Venture opportunities. EXPERIENCE: 10+ years as a Reservoir Engineer with international experience, exploration experience is desired. EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor’s of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering or closely-related engineering discipline is required. | ||
