DescriptionIn order to satisfy an existing contract, we currently have a requirement for a Cathodic Protection Specialist to work with one of our clients in Libya.

Job Description:

The CP Specialist will be responsible for the design, specification, installation, maintenance and monitoring of Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) and Sacrificial Anode Cathodic Protection (SACP) systems for pipelines, aboveground storage tanks (AST), Underground storage tanks (UST), buried pipework and jetties.

A detailed working knowledge of Close Interval Potential Survey (CIPS), Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG), Signal Attenuation Coating Surveys (SACS) and Pearson surveys is required.

The CP Specialist will also be responsible for the repair and maintenance of existing CP systems, collection and interpretation of survey results, including preparing and issuing reports and recommendations for remedial measures as required by the Staff Corrosion Engineer and Tripoli Head Office. Liaising with Operations and where necessary assisting Production, General Maintenance & Drilling by carrying out cable/pipe detection surveys.
Skills• BSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science.
• Professional Member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) and/or the Institute of Corrosion (ICorr) or other internationally recognised societies is required.
• A high standard of written and spoken English is essential.
• A minimum of 10 years experience in Cathodic Protection in the Oil/Gas/Chemical processing industries is required.
RemarksWork rotation: 42 days work followed by 21 days leave.
