| Description | An international technical services consultancy, Shell Global Solutions (GS) has a clear objective – to help its customers improve their business performance by providing a host of innovative consultancy services and technological expertise. From its roots as a cost-sharer servicing Shell’s own companies, the business has been transformed into to a dynamic, commercially driven organisation forming a large network and comprising over 4000 technical professionals. We provide consultancy, technical and Research & Development (R&D) services to a wide range of Shell and non-Shell associated clients worldwide so you will be working in a truly international environment. It means we can offer you the scope and the wide-reaching challenges that will truly enable you to broaden your skill base. Our Upstream Development Group works to deliver the highest return on investment from Shell’s hydrocarbon opportunities by identifying and selecting the best facilities concept, by optimising the asset performance throughout its lifetime, and by developing ground-breaking technology. This role is based in Rijswijk, the Netherlands, but it will involve international travel. Responsibilities: As a Senior Process Engineer, you will work within integrated project teams to identify and select process concepts that reflect the range of sub-surface uncertainty that is inherent in immature projects. Your role involves managing and reviewing work carried out by external engineering consultants, overseeing the performance of individuals and the team as a whole, and co-ordinating internal and external interfaces to deliver robust, integrated solutions. We will expect you to work independently within multi-disciplinary teams and, over time, to become an integrated team leader. | ||
| Skills | A graduate engineer, you should have extensive process engineering experience in Exploration & Production (EP), ideally gained in an international oil company or in a contractor or consulting environment. Broad-based EP facilities engineering skills are important and you will have specific skills in the conceptual and detailed design of EP facilities; oil, water and gas process technologies and flow schemes; and pipeline hydraulics, multiphase flow and flow assurance. You should be fully conversant with steady state process and pipeline simulation tools such as HYSYS and PIPESIM with a good working knowledge of reservoir and well engineering. Your outstanding interpersonal and team working skills mean you will be adept at making a contribution to multidisciplinary, integrated teams and you will have the ambition and drive to develop yourself across the full technical, commercial and interpersonal spectrum. English language skills are essential and Dutch would be useful. This job is not offered on expatriate terms. A remuneration package based on the conditions in the country of employment will be offered for this position. | ||
