| Description | An international technical services consultancy, Shell Global Solutions (GS) has a clear objective – to help its customers improve their business performance by providing a host of innovative consultancy services and technological expertise. From its roots as a cost-sharer servicing Shell’s own companies, the business has been transformed into a dynamic, commercially driven organisation forming a large network and comprising over 4000 technical professionals. We provide consultancy, technical and Research & Development (R&D) services to a wide range of Shell and non-Shell associated clients worldwide so you will be working in a truly international environment. It means we can offer you the scope and the wide-reaching challenges that will truly enable you to broaden your skill base. Our Upstream Development Business Group works with Exploration & Production (EP) customers to deliver the highest return on investment from their hydrocarbon opportunities by identifying and selecting the best facilities concept; optimising the asset performance throughout its lifetime; and developing ground-breaking technology. Responsibilities: In this high profile role, you will deliver multi-disciplinary consultancy services to a diverse global client base with project values typically exceeding $100 million in terms of capital expenditure. Joining a team of highly motivated professionals, you will be the project leader for field development engineering within integrated developments. You will also execute single and multidisciplinary engineering studies using efficient workflows and following an agreed commercial model. We will expect you to manage and review work carried out by external engineering consultants and to oversee the performance of individuals and the team as a whole, focusing on achieving 100% customer satisfaction and optimising revenue. Your role will also involve managing and reporting on the technical content, execution and overall project control of studies and projects. | ||
| Skills | With a degree in engineering or equivalent, you will have extensive EP engineering experience, ideally gained in two or three operating companies or in a contractor or consulting environment. We will be looking for a solid technical background and broad based EP facilities engineering skills. Your specific skills and experience should include front-end conceptual engineering and field development planning, and specifically screening, feasibility and concept selection studies. You will also be adept at working within integrated multidisciplinary teams alongside colleagues from subsurface, surface, wells and commercial teams. Project execution skills are important, including conceptual and detailed engineering design and construction support, and you will be conversant with the following: • Technical HSE and business risk management • Project cost and schedule development and evaluation • Petroleum engineering and project economics We are looking for a positive team player with excellent leadership and communication skills and an open minded approach. You should be driven by the desire to add value to our customers’ assets by acquiring and delivering high quality services. You could come from any surface engineering discipline background but you will have the aptitude to develop across a broader spectrum technically, commercially and interpersonally. However, knowledge of Shell’s working practices would be an advantage. A remuneration package based on the conditions in the country of employment will be offered for this position. | ||
