| Description | POSITION DESCRIPTION: The successful applicant must be an experienced seismic interpreter with preferably a minimum of 10 years experience in prospect generation. The candidate must be able to integrate geologic and geophysical data to rapidly produce high quality prospects. The candidate should also be highly knowledgeable in aspects of seismic acquisition and processing. Will be required to assimilate geological and geophysical data to rank prospective areas and formulate an exploration strategy based on basin analysis, risk assessment, ultimate potential and economic analysis. The candidate must evaluate large amounts of data rapidly and to develop risk assessed and ranked prospects is essential. The candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to contribute in a team environment. Candidate must take an active leadership role in the above, applying its use in new reservoir fairway potential and prediction as it impacts Saudi Aramco's future exploration programs. | ||
| Skills | SELECTION CRITERIA: 3D seismic interpretation using UNIX workstations, preferably GeoQuest. Thorough, practical experience & competency in mapping with Petrosys, Z-Mapplus or CPS-3 mapping software packages. Familiarity with seismic attribute analysis to model rock properties, sedimentary facies and depositional architecture where possible. # Knowledge of basin modeling techniques, stratigraphic trap models for carbonate and clastic regimes would be beneficial. Experience in evaluating low relief structural prospects, and familiarity with near-surface static and velocity problems would be an asset. A successful track record with major independent oil and gas companies active in exploration is essential. General understanding of the major elements within the hydrocarbon system, their integration and associated risk in exploration. Advance degree Preferred. | ||
