Description Job Function:

Report to the Production Engineering Coordinator. The job function includes but is not limited to the following:

Responsible of the production optimization, well workovers, completion design and supervision and maintenance of production efficiency.
Identify, rank and optimize well-work based on production maintenance, production increase and reserve increase. On this regard, minimize the production downtime through immediate reaction to solve production problems.

• Prepare and implement downhole completion and workover programs on new and existing wells in close cooperation with reservoir engineering, drilling and geology department professionals.
• Responsible for production logging, well test design and analysis, coiled tubing applications, electric and slick line operations, well integrity and well control.
• Design and implement optimal artificial lift.
• Design and implement horizontal and multi-lateral well completions, stimulation and workovers.
• Implement root-cause failure analysis of artificial lift.
• Track and implement improvements to reduce failures and downtime.
• Maintain a database of all completions and workovers.
• Identify successful and unsuccessful practices and make recommendations to improve the success ratio.
• Keep current on new technology.
• Identify and present new production engineering technologies for approval of field-testing.
• AFE preparation for approval.
• Prepare yearly budget requirements.
• Prepare and present professional presentations for technical meetings.
• Prepare professional presentations for the Manager to present to Owners.
• Have an active role in personnel development in the Department through supervision, work reviews, training and mentoring.

Skills The successful applicant will have the following minimum qualifications:

15+ years of proven experience; overseas experience is an asset.

BS in Engineering (Petroleum Engineering preferred); advanced degree is an asset.

Reservoir Engineering experience is an asset.

Proficiency in industry-standard production engineering software applications, including flow simulation and reservoir surveillance.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Proficiency with presentation skills to facilitate program approval with the National Oil Corporation.
