| Description | The manufacturer of the new generation of lightweight, flexible, non-metallic, un-bonded pipes for use in sub-sea and other applications, is looking for the Lab Testing Engineer for the Testing Lab at Houston Technology Center. Our mission is to be truly global organization that delivers high value products to our customers through the right people, technologies and processes. With the growing testing activities, the main responsibilities of the Lab Testing Engineer will be the following: - Design, specify, procure, construct, assemble, instrument, and analyze data for the new equipment intended to purchase. - Work with test instruments, in design, procuring, and assembling new test instruments. - Do development, implementation, and optimization of the test processes. - Create CAD models and technical drawings. - Read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings from design engineers. - Coordinate and interface with vendors to fabricate and supply components. - Maintain and troubleshoot electric, mechanical, hydro- and electro-mechanical test equipment. | ||
| Skills | - Bachelor degree in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering from an accredited college. - 3-5 years of prior related experience working with test instruments. - Experienced in design, procuring, and assembling new test instruments. - Skilled in mechanical and electro components of test tooling and fixtures. - Proficient in MS Offices, Outlook, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PLC programming, etc. - Proficient in LabView. - Self motivated, able to work with minimum supervision. Strong hands-on attitude, capable to provide technical direction to technicians. Must be able to: - establish timelines on all projects with good project management and multi-task skills. - generate and execute test procedures, planning and conducting. hydro-mechanical testing, and write test reports. - demonstrate good personal skills, team work spirit, good oral and written communication skills. - work well with other engineers and technicians. Prior experience in energy industry and test methods such as ASME and API is highly desirable. Industrial experience in an instrument company is preferred. | ||
