DescriptionA Leading Global Independent Energy Company, engaged in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, as well as in refining and in marketing refined petroleum products, natural gas, and electricity wants to recruit Senior Reservoir Engineer.
This new role presents an opportunity to join a newly established Subsurface Team within Developments, and to contribute to value creation through work on a variety of projects.
Particular focus will be required on the effective appraisal of oil and gas fields, formulating and evaluating development scenarios, and selection of the best economic plan.
This position has the responsibility to provide the Developments team with accurate reservoir engineering analysis and modeling of the subsurface. Depending on the project, this will be achieved through direct application of the latest interpretation and modeling techniques, through collaboration with asset subsurface teams or by effectively influencing joint venture partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provision of reservoir engineering technical support for the Developments team in support of appraisal, development planning and management of each asset; Building, maintaining and updating field development plans to include reserves characterization and associated production profiles; Work with other team members to ensure that a cross functional development plan is delivered sufficient to meet the business objectives; Evaluation and justification of appraisal plans, appraisal well locations and provision of reservoir engineering input for appraisal well proposals; Evaluation of impact of appraisal wells on characterization of reserves distribution, and the field development plan; Building and maintaining economic models and maintaining the AVP (Asset Value Plan) for each of Development’s business assets and participate in the annual budgeting process; Characterizing the reservoir engineering risks and uncertainties, and formulating mitigation plans; Integrating new well data and results into reservoir models and understanding the implications for reserve or resource estimates; Development of value added data acquisition plans to improve reservoir understanding and production potential; Providing reservoir engineering support during drilling operations including QC of logging and sampling, and monitoring of production testing operations; Reservoir engineering data management for the Developments team; Quality control / assurance of production testing data; Assist the Subsurface team members to specify data acquisition requirements; Participation in defining and executing evaluation strategies and programs; Mentoring less experienced team members.
SkillsMS in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline with formal training courses in other subsurface functional areas. PhD would be a plus.
15+ years of work experience in reservoir engineering, preferably in an operated environment;
Good understanding of reservoir and production engineering, with awareness of petroleum geology, geophysics, and petrophysics;
Strong understanding of reservoir evaluation techniques, reservoir modeling and simulation;
Experience in field development planning and economic evaluation;
Knowledge and experience of core analyses, fluid properties, well test interpretation and the importance of integration of engineering and geoscience data in describing the reservoir;
Experience with simulation modeling, well testing, nodal analysis and economic software and an awareness of Petrel or other geological modeling software;
Capable of problem solving and always looking for efficient operational solutions;
Able to work independently and to collaborate as part of a multi-disciplined team;
Able to work to tight deadlines and effective at multi-tasking;
Culturally sensitive and able to work effectively in the developing world;
Positive attitude, self-motivating and proactive team worker;
Good presenter with strong communication skills;
Mentoring of more junior staff and transferring of knowledge to the organization as a whole.
