| Description | Company is the manufacturer of the new generation of lightweight, flexible, non-metallic, un-bonded pipes for use in sub-sea and other applications. These pipes are the first of their kind offering large savings in weight and cost to operators, greater depth / cost ratio and overall performance than any present sub-sea pipe systems. Company mission is to be truly global organization that delivers high value products to our customers through the right people, technologies and processes. With the growing testing activities, the Testing Lab at Houston Technology Center needs additional Technician to design, specify, procure, construct, assemble, instrument testing equipment, to plan, conduct and analyze testing data. Job Description: - Prepare test specimens. Testing of materials and finished product. - Follow test procedures and conduct experiments for R&D projects. - Generate reports of tested data. Keep good records on computer. - Coordinate workflow with team members. - Operate test equipment independently. Some components can be heavy. - Maintenance, upkeep, and troubleshooting electric, mechanical, hydro- and electro-mechanical test equipment. - Keep test equipment and work area clean and safe. - Perform a variety of tasks. Do visual inspection, labeling, and organizing test specimens. - Prepare samples and coordinate outside testing Lead lab technical workers. | ||
| Skills | - 2-3 year associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial or Materials Engineering from an accredited college. -3-5 years of prior related experience in testing lab. - Pay attention to details. Follow test schedules. - Be flexible to work schedule. - Be hands on, motivated, and take initiative on projects. - Proficiency in MS offices, Outlook, LabView and AutoCAD. - Good personal skills, team work spirit, work well with other engineers and technicians, good oral and written communication skills. Industrial experience in testing plastics & composite materials is preferred. | ||
