| Description | Job Responsibilities: • Liaise with field operations. • Responsible for supporting field based Company personnel and managing Contractors/Services in the executing of all operations performed in the drilling, completion, testing and abandonment of, exploration and development wells for the Company. • Responsible for planning, coordinating and supporting all technical and operational aspects of daily drilling related activities, including programme preparation in accordance with local authority regulations, company policies & HSEQ standards, AFE preparation, daily cost stewardship, and ensuring that all Drilling Programmes are executed as planned. • Responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner and that costs are minimised where practical and non-productive time is avoided. • Provide field supervision, support and assistance when required, and assist the wellsite personnel in critical operations. Discuss and review daily work instructions for the drilling process. • Ensure all Company Safety Rules and HSEQ Regulations are followed. Work with fellow Drilling & Workover personnel, Field Supervisors, Material & Logistic Coordinators, Rig Contractors and 3rd party Service Providers to ensure that modern and internationally recognised industry practices are followed and/or implemented. Participate in HSEQ related audits and investigations as required by the Drilling & Workover Department. • Provide co-ordination, as required, between all Company Operations, Rig Contractors, 3rd party Service Providers and Company Logistical Support so as to ensure that all the necessary materials, equipment, services and personnel arrive and leave the location as necessary to ensure continuous operations. • Provide support to field based Company personnel in their role of ensuring that the Rig Contractors and 3rd party Service Providers maintain their Rigs, Equipment and Materials adequately to maximise efficiency and minimise non-productive time, and that Company provided Materials and Equipment are properly utilised, handled and stored. • Responsible for determining if technical parameters of Rig Contractors and 3rd party Service Providers are in accordance with the Contract. Participate in Quality and pre-acceptance related audits and inspections as required by the Drilling & Workover Department. • If required, ensure that the Rig Contractors and 3rd party Service Providers meets all Contractual requirements, verify all Rig Contractor and 3rd party Service Provider services by way of tour reports, field tickets and invoices. • Work with fellow Drilling & Workover Department personnel as required to accomplish all well objectives, including other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Drilling & Workover Department. • Work with Reservoir Engineering, Geology, Production Engineering and Projects/Construction to ensure all well objectives are met in the delivery of optimum producing wells which also includes exploration/appraisal wells. • Evaluate and propose new drilling tools and equipment, procedures and practices that may be implemented to reduce cost and increase operational efficiency. • Assist the Drilling Superintendent, Workover Superintendent and Drilling & Workover Manager in the management of drilling activities. • Coordinate specific work activities with the Workover Section to optimise operations as required. • Verify and distribute daily drilling and cost reports for the Company. • Ensure all documents relating to drilling & completion activities are proper filed, stored and available. • Responsible for requesting a written report or statement from the Rig Contractors and 3rd party Service Providers for any item, event or occurrence that, in his opinion, warrants such a report. • Responsible for ensuring that optimum cost control is exercised by the field personnel and costs are kept within set AFE limits. • Teach, train and develop junior or trainee staff (if applicable). • Reports to the Drilling & Workover Manager. | ||
| Skills | Job Requirements & Experience: • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, at least 8 years as a Drilling Engineer for internationally recognised E&P Companies • BSc/MSc in Engineering from an industry recognised university. • International Experience, preferably with some in Eastern Europe, Middle East or Central Asia countries. • Experience with exploration and development wells. Horizontal well experience is preferred. Sour Service, Offshore and/or High Pressure well experience is beneficial. • Strong project management skills, team orientated and ability to communicate. • Commitment to safety, exceptional service and continuous improvement. • Able to mentor and train junior and/or local staff. • Fluent in English (spoken, written and reading), Russian is an advantage. • Valid IWCF Surface BOP Supervisor Certification. | ||
