| Description | Purpose: The senior technical specialist will provide specialist input to critical engineering activities related to troubleshooting of technical challenges and modifications to existing platforms and facilities. It is the responsibility of the senior technical specialist to support the integration of process safety activities. General Duties: 1. Comply with applicable safety instructions and other Company procedures, both onshore and offshore. 2. Assess all matters with regards to safety, economic impact and technical importance. Due diligence shall be observed and initiative taken to secure the best result. 3. Treat all information, both written and spoken, obtained in the course of the work with confidentiality. 4. Carry out work in compliance with: • Company values and policies • Relevant laws and regulations • Applicable contracts. 5. Actively monitor work progress such that risks and problem areas are identified, reported and solutions identified. 6. Timely completion of assigned projects and tasks. 7. Bring forward suggestions for improvements in time and cost within the areas of responsibility. 8. Undertake any other work and responsibilities as per separate instruction. Specific Duties: 1. Support and advice the Head of Facility Engineering in technical matters. 2. Provide detailed knowledge of offshore oil and gas process system design and the design of associated facilities and platform structures. 3. Support discipline leads and centre team leads in troubleshooting activities. 4. Participate in the development of new engineering practices and process techniques. 5. Provide specialist input to technical task force teams and work groups. 6. Evaluate and when required develop technical concepts and design to ensure that the solutions are safe, operable and cost effective. 7. Evaluate and make recommendations to technical queries related to ongoing projects and to operational activities. 8. Provide technical specialist knowledge to EPIC -, brownfield projects and to the extent possible other departments. 9. Actively pursue a high focus on process safety. | ||
| Skills | Education and Experience: • University degree in process or mechanical engineering. • Demonstrable relevant oil and gas industry experience. • Detailed knowledge of offshore oil and gas process system design and the design of associated facilities and platform structures. • Thorough experience with design of and modification to large offshore projects. Skill set/Competences: • Practical and systematic approach to problem solving. • Strong interpersonal and English communication skills – verbal and written • Capable of working in an international and multicultural environment. | ||
