DescriptionPETROM S.A - a member of OMV Group -is the largest integrated oil and gas producing company in Romania. While Romania has a long and successful tradition of building gas and oil production facilities it is, after becoming member of the European Union, a major tasks is to achieve a step change in how projects are developed and executed to meet the latest EU standards.

Some of the most significant assets are situated in the Black Sea area some 70 kilometers offshore from the town of Constanta. The water depth is approx. 45 m.

The Project & Engineering Division of PETROM E&P is managing a programme of major modernization and development projects started in 2007 and due to run until the 2nd half of 2010. Most of these projects are offshore and include a field development plan comprising of a drilling campaign, a new offshore platform, sub sea completion as well as upgrading automation, power supply, fire fighting facilities etc. on existing installations. One of the projects is located onshore at nearby Midia terminal where a gas treatment plant is currently under construction. The budget of the project programme adds up to around EUR 350 MM. It is also expected that further major projects will be identified and approved for implementation.

• Responsible for the management and coordination of the projects related to Petrom’s offshore assets
• Assuring the application of standard project management procedures during all phases of the projects
• Organizing a smooth transition of the projects trough all phases
• Responsible for set up, mobilisation and management of the project teams
• Responsible for the verification of the basis of design
• Responsible for project programme planning and budgeting (Schedule, milestones, cost estimations)
• Assessment of risks and mitigation planning
• Contributing to the business case and project approval procedures
• Responsible to organize the relevant peer review workshops and tollgate presentations
• Responsible for the technical evaluation and selection of contractors, with particular emphasis to capture synergies between the different projects
• Coordinate and ensure the required permitting procedures
• Ensure the compliance of the projects with European Union HSE requirements and Corporate HSE policies and procedures
• Collaborate closely with the Petrom project programme owner
• Assure adequate coordination with other departments engaged in the projects, in particular Reservoir Management, Drilling, Facilities Engineering and Asset Management
• Ensure the compliance of the project programme with Petrom’s investment and PM guidelines

Reporting to: Head of Project Department – Petrom E&P Projects and Engineering Division
Skills• MSc degree in petroleum, chemical/process , mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Min. of 15 years professional experience in the oil and gas industry
• Min. of 10 years experience in project management, engineering, construction and/ or operations of oil and gas production and processing facilities
• Experience with international offshore projects and operations is essential
• Experience in project portfolio management of advantage
• Fluent in English, working knowledge of Romanian or German is of advantage
• Excellent team leading skills, verbal and written skills are mandatory
• Excellent social skills and cultural awareness
• Computer literate in standard office software
