| Description | RESPONSIBILITIES: o Work concurrent high voltage substation projects o Work with administration and Project Managing personnel to determine design and scheduling parameters. o Perform engineering calculations and studies. o Work with client’s staff, subcontractors, other MSE staff engineers and designers to complete a substation construction design package, (bill of material, physical, electrical schematic and electrical wiring drawings, SCADA controls.). o Coordinate design and scheduling issues with clients and vendors, including attendance at meetings and conferences. o Coordinate with purchasing and quality control personnel: o Provide engineering specifications and other information required by purchasing to procure equipment. o Review vendor submittals. o Inspect equipment at vendor’s and client’s facilities. o Maintenance and compliance with the relevant sections of the MSE ISO 9001 quality system. o Coordinate with Project Manager and client to assure all client’s requirements are satisfied. o Provide engineering assistance during construction and commissioning. o Assure that all engineering documents and records are properly maintained. o Participate in an annual performance review. | ||
| Skills | PREREQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience o Highly motivated and an independent self starter. o BS in Electrical or Electric Power Engineering. o 5+ Years Experience in Design of Distribution and/or Transmission Level Substations (12 kV to 345 kV or higher) Computer Skills o Demonstrated experience in the following software programs: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook – Required Microsoft Project – Desirable Microsoft Access - Desirable Bentley MicroStation – Preferable Intergraph IRAS/B - Preferable Autodesk AutoCAD r14 or 2000 – Desirable Aspen and/or ETAP - Desirable Other Requirements o Professional Engineering License is preferred, not necessarily required. o Willingness to travel up to 10%. o Good written and verbal communications skills are a must. o Ability to work well with others. | ||
