| Description | The role will be to expand the range and size of our client's hydro business in the UK and other worldwide markets. The candidate will be expected to assist in the growth of a dynamic UK based team providing a range of hydro related services to clients worldwide. Additionally, the BD manager will be expected to form close relationships with other MM companies and external organisations to win business for the group. As a senior member of the hydro team the BD manager would expect to become a respected member of the senior management team and would have every opportunity for promotion as the team grew. The candidate would ideally be familiar with the hydroelectric power market and a thorough understanding of a wide range of the technical disciplines so that he could develop provide sensible responses to clients problems and issues. Ideally the candidate will have a proven track record in winning work. Good people skills and excellent literacy skills are prime requirements as the candidate will be required to persuasively convey to potential clients the reasons why employing our client would be in their best interests. The business development manager will be required to: - Build and maintain client relationships around the world and to inform them of our client's hydro capabilities and aspirations. - Analyse and develop business development strategies based on an understanding of the requirements of the market, the capabilities of the existing staff and the probable availability of new recruits. - Be a central member of the management team for the hydro business. - Recommend staffing requirements. - Manage the preparation of proposals and expressions of interest in conjunction with other team members. - Prepare business plans in conjunction with the sub-division manager and other team members. It is expected that the engineer would work as part of the multi-disciplinary hydro division alongside engineers of various disciplines. Overseas travel would be expected including visits to remote locations. Visits would normally be of one to two weeks. The business development manager would report to the hydro team sub-division manager. | ||
