DescriptionSpecific Position Responsibilities: (apart from the type position)
The Drilling Superintendent will be a senior representative of the company and will coordinate the planning and execution of all drilling, completion, and testing operations assigned to his project teams in collaboration with the Drilling Engineering Manager and Drilling Engineer. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the correct and safe implementation of all operations procedures. Specific duties will include:

Primary Duties:
• Supervise Drilling Operations Team
• Manage all company drilling related operational procedures on a daily basis to ensure smooth, efficient, cost effective and safe operations are maintained.
• Responsible for the application of the safety regulations and procedures in force.
• Operations and contingency forward planning, including materials procurement and logistics arrangements.
• Resolve daily operational issues as they arise.
• Liaise with the drilling contractor to ensure that:
o The rig and equipment in a good and safe condition.
o All operations are carried out in accordance with safe and environmentally responsible operational procedures and good drilling practices.
o Adequate contingency and backup equipment and personnel are available on location to maintain optimum rig performance.
• Manage on-site rig supervisors on non-routine procedures and instruct them in emergency situations.
• Direct and organize, in emergency situations, the necessary means to safeguard personnel, equipment, the environment, and the wellbore, according to existing plans.
• Ensure that the on-site rig supervisor’s material and equipment orders are suitable for the intended application and drilling conditions.
SkillsQualifications:
• Engineering degree and at least 15 years experience in Drilling Engineering and Operations (10 years in deepwater drilling operations).
• Preferred candidate will have at least five years international experience.
• Previous experience with a major would be desired.

Languages:
• English language skills, Spanish would be advantageous.
