Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for the position of Senior Enterprise Integration and Planning Engineer located initially in Houston, TX and relocating to Luanda, Angola in 2009.

Overview:

The Angola LNG (ALNG) project will be constructed from 2008 to 2011 and will start production early 2012. The LNG plant will be built and operated by a new company, the Angola LNG Operating Company. This position will be responsible for the development of the technical capability for running the Angola LNG Plant and to take the plant through startup.

The successful candidate will be seconded to the Angola LNG (ALNG) Operating company. Initial assignment in Houston for approximately 6 months to 1 year prior to a resident assignment Luanda, Angola.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure that a comprehensive, integrated technical/economic model of the ALNG value chain is developed and available for Operating Company use.
• Provide subject matter expertise on complex enterprise optimization studies, including analyzing operations to improve and optimize reservoir, pipeline, plant and product delivery performance and profitability.
• Review and assess all current methodologies, calculation techniques and software systems used for predicting reservoir, pipeline and plant products available for export shipping and domestic markets (this will include reviewing all reservoir, pipeline, plant, and shipping simulations and RAM models to ensure calculation and data linkage integrity and compatibility). Following this review, identify any gaps that are barriers to development of a comprehensive, integrated technical/economic, full value chain model of the Angola LNG production system.
• Describe, develop scope and roadmap to close any identified gaps; provide leadership in developing methodologies, procedures, models and software to close identified gaps.
• Develop additional models, as required for specific purposes including: 1) a mass balance/data reconciliation program to a daily mass and energy balance of the entire Angola LNG production chain; 2) a product allocation program to perform a daily/monthly production allocation; 3) generate all production allocation reports required by company, shareholders, and governmental agencies.
• Cover the assessment of present enterprise technical/economic models and development of models to fill in gaps identified in assessment.
• Development of other technical/economic models as necessity dictates,
• Provide subject matter expertise on complex enterprise optimization studies.
• Maintain and propose, as needed, upgrades to the ALNG enterprise technical/economic and allocation models.
• Monitor hydrocarbon off-take and ensure accurate accounting and implementation of the Gas Supply and Gas Off-Take Agreements. Coordinate actions to balance Block off-take volumes, product entitlement and liftings.
• Provide system capacity studies to various contract negotiations (such as gas supply, incremental sales, etc.).
Skills• Minimum 5 years directly related work experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree required in Chemical or Industrial Engineering; other Engineering disciplines will also be considered.
• Position requires ability to develop system wide simulation models (initially pipeline and plant – later integrate output from reservoir simulators with pipeline and plant models).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Proven track record of delivering results through people.
• Broad background in production/reservoir engineering, gathering/pipeline systems (gas/oil) and plant process engineering.
• Demonstrated abilities in oil/gas system (pipeline/plant process) modeling using industry software.
• Ability to work with multi-national partnership and National Oil company in an international environment; mentor national employees.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree preferred in Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
