DescriptionBasic Function:
Repair & maintenance of Company's offshore equipment & facilities in depths down to 140 ft. of water & other offshore surface equipment. Maintains diving & maintenance equipment on the diving & heavy lift barge. Responsible for all heavy lifts up to 55 tons. Responsible for safe mooring & positioning of the barge.

Function & Responsibilities:
1. Ensures that all diving operations are carried out in a safe & expeditious manner. Supervises all decompressions of divers, including possible therapeutical decompression treatment. Keeps records of dives carried out.
2. Plans & carries out maintenance on all offshore equipment in co-operation with Marine Superintendent or his duty.
3. Advises Marine Superintendent or duty of any deficiencies in offshore equipment.
4. Plans the purchase of spares & equipment for Berths, diving equipment & heavy lifting diving barge, in co-operation with the Marine Superintendant.
5. Maintains the diving & heavy lift barge & all the diving & lifting equipment in a satisfactory manner.
6. In an emergency assists in marine operations in rescue of persons & operation of salvage equipment & vessel.
7. Handles all movements of the work barge when towed by mooring launches in a safe & efficient manner, including mooring, unmooring, on work locations offshore & in the harbour.
8. Responsible for all hot work on offshore locations & fire & safety procedures.
9. Responsible for all heavy lifts by the crane & 'A' frame of up to 55 tons.
SkillsSecondary School Certificate or equivalent & Diving Certificate issued by internationally recognised authority, to have an in-depth knowledge of diving procedures including decompression treatments.

Independence of Operation:
Works independently to achieve objectives & is totally responsible for safe diving procedures when leading teams.
