DescriptionBasic Function:
Acts as a relief for Field Superintendent during field break & thereby assumes full responsibility for the Production Field. Responsible for planning co-ordinating & supervising all maintenance & operational problems affecting production & for ensuring all relevant production records & reports are correlated for review by Tripoli. Initiates all invoice approvals, warehouse issues & salary administration & field administration for budgets.

Function & Responsibilities:
1. Reviews day-to-day problems, directing corrective actions. This involves investigating problems on site & providing recommendations to Tripoli Operations.
2. Supervises & directs maintenance activities setting priorities in relation to production requirements. Recommends plant shutdown as necessary or relevant action to by-pass equipment failure while still maintaining production schedule.
3. Maintains all technical paperwork in the Field. Keeps records on cost, approves invoices for payment against contracts or materials order & directs warehouse issues to operating departments. Initiates all salary increases, promotions etc. against budget for approval by Tripoli Management.
4. Liaises with Engineering & Drilling personnel engaged in project work in the Field ensuring project work meets with production requirements.
5. To ensure the observance of safety rules & regulations & to propose their improvement or modification.
6. To define the first measures to be applied in emergency situations to put the Plants in a safe condtion.
7. Assumes total responsibility of the Field Superintendent during his absence on field break.
8. Provides capital & expense budget recommendations & maintains field control budgets.
SkillsUniversity degree in Engineering Science or equivalent coupled with a minimum of 15 years diversified experience in petroleum production with demostrated leadership qualities.

Independence of Operation:
Must exercise a high degree of analytical judgement and be capable of making frequent non-routine decisions. Operates under general guidance and in conformance with general management directives.
