| Description | Basic Function: Assists the Maintenance Supervisor in the organisation & management of all maintenance functions related to the Company's field based oil & gas operations. On occasions, may substitute for the Maintenance Supervisor. Function & Responsibilities: 1. Assists in the organisation, disposition & control of manpower, equipment & facilities assigned to the Maintenance Department. 2. Has responsibility for ensuring that work is carried out according to applicable standards & Codes of Practice and that the workforce comply with all aspects of Company safety policy. 3. Participates with the Planning Section in the operation of the Maintenance Management System & monitors the results & information generated by this computer based system. 4. Monitors & evaluates the work carried out by the department & assesses its long-term effect on the Company's operations. Suggests changes in any established procedure in order to effect improvement. | ||
| Skills | B.Sc. In Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Additional specific maintenance based training in a process industry, preferably oil & gas. Minimum of 10 years diversified experience in petroleum techniques/oil field operations. | ||
| Remarks | Must possess the ability to evaluate highly specialised data in mechanical, electrical & instrumentation fields & make sound judgements & decisions relating to maintenance problems & breakdowns. Costs associated with this function are substantial. | ||
