| Description | Basic Function: Plans, directs & supervises the production of liquified gas product using condensate feedstock in a 68,000 barrels per day Gas Processing Plant comprising refrigerant, de-propanising, de-butanising, de-sulphurising units & a tank storage area. Ensure the efficiency & safety of the plant operations. Function & Responsibilities: 1. Initiates corrective actions to be taken to keep the plant running safely & at a maximum efficiency in all cases. 2. Ensure that all the operations are carried out in accordance with the established operating standards procedures and in strict respect of the safety rules & regulations. 3. Supervises the production of gas products from feedstock in line with the planned production/loading programmes. 4. Prepares economic evaluations of product modifications & plant changes in attaining optimum efficiency of production. 5. Prepares forecasts relating to gas production, in line with plant operating & feedstock conditions. Ensure sufficient product can be produced to meet loading requirements. 6. Directs the necessary maintenance activities ensuring the minimum inconvenience to production. 7. Develops plant operating & maintenance procedures. 8. Maintains complete technical records & reports of gas plant operations for submission to Terminal/Tripoli Management. 9. Directs the development & installation of training programmes. 10. Prepares capital & operating budgets & staff salary recommendations for management approval. | ||
| Skills | B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, plus minimum of 12 years specialised operating experience, coupled with minimum of 15 years supervisory experience in refinery or gas plant process maintenance & operations. Must possess & exercise a high degree of analytical judgment & make decisions relating to gas plant operations. Decisions involve the efficiency operation of the overall Terminal Gas Plant complex, with substantial cost implications. Has access to supervision on major problems. | ||
