Technical Consulting is a new part of the business, directed at helping Schlumberger customers add business value by helping them improve their business and technical performance through optimization of their workflows and information systems resulting from investments in our technology and services. Technical Consulting employs a full range of professional technical staff, from Geoscientists to Reservoir and Production Engineers. Due to the demand for our services, Technical Consulting needs to recruit professional staff around the world. General Role Description: Technical Consulting works with its clients on a project basis. Consultants will work with the client to undertake daigniostic assessments of working practices, workflows and technologies. Projects will often move on to ivolve the design and implementation of new workflows for the client. Because of the consulting nature of the work, consultants have to be more than a petrotechnical professional. They will need to have or be able to develop rounded consulting skills, be able to manage client and consulting. | ||
| Skills | Key requirements for the candidates are: * Seasoned technical professional with broad EP experience demonstrated through projects and/or publications * Able to work independently and assess key business/commercial objectives. * Able to develop and deliver technical solutions that meet the objectives and to see that technology is successfully transferred * Able to identify a problem, propose and 'sell' the solution, design implementation, drive technology transfer, and acceptance of the solution * Able to cooperate with other development teams to enable integrated solutions and workflows involving data and methods from other technical disciplines and their corresponding development teams. Academic Qualifications: Masters Degree in Geoscience Experience: 10 years + in a relevant G&G discupline Experience/ role: Experience in G&G practices in two or more of the following areas; - Prospect generation. - Reservoir characterization/modeling. - Uncertainty analysis. - Seismic interpretation. Software knowledge preferred SIS core G&G tools; - Petrel - GeoFrame - Interactive Petrophysics Solid demonstrated knowledge of process can substitite for some of these requirements with the understanding that there will be an intensive learning curve fo the candidate. | ||
