| Description | Basic Function: Organises, supervises & manages the maintenance installation & repair of Gas Turbines & equipment associated with the company's oil & gas operation. Function & Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for the organization, disposition & control of manpower, equipment & facilities in the Jet Shop. 2. Is responsible for the observance of safe work practices within the field & workshop areas & ensures that applicable safety procedures & regulations are observed by the personnel under his jurisdiction. 3. Has the responsibility for ensuring that work is carried out according to applicable standards & codes of practice. 4. Directs others to make recommendation in the fault finding, dismantle, inspection, refurbishment, repair, re-build of gas generators, free turbines & their associated components. 5. Analyzes repetitive malfunctions & makes recommendations for corrective actions. 6. Maintains information & equipment records on all equipment pertaining to the Jet Shop. 7. Should be literate & capable of compiling technical reports. Completes routine reports & administrative duties on a regular basis. 8. Has a deep involvement in the training of local employees. Initiates the provision of specialized field courses for Jet Shop personnel when required. 9. Has a firm knowledge of material procurement & warehousing techniques. Prepares equipment & spare parts requisitions. 10. Works closely with the maintenance planning group & advises on preventive maintenance procedures & compilation of equipment data. 11. Responsible for the observance of company policy & procedures & may impose disciplinary action against any member of the Jet Shop. 12. Assists the maintenance supervisor in the preparation & control of the Jet Shop's capital & expense budget. | ||
| Skills | B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Must possess a minimum of 12 years in repair & maintenance of gas turbines. | ||
| Remarks | Independence of Operation: Must possess the ability to evaluate specialised gas turbine data & make decisions relating to maintenance & breakdowns. Motivate work force to provide, to the company a quality & well maintained equipment. | ||
