Description Company is the manufacturer of the new generation of lightweight, flexible, non-metallic, un-bonded pipes for use in sub-sea and other applications. These pipes are the first of their kind offering large savings in weight and cost to operators, greater depth/cost ratio and overall performance than any present sub-sea pipe systems.

We are seeking a Material Engineer for our Product Development Group, located in Houston, Texas.
Successful candidate will:
- Be knowledgeable of extrusion of polyethylene, polyamide, and PVDF to large diameter pipes.
- Demonstrate good understanding of extrusion process, die design, and diameter control.
- Develop internal materials-process-properties data base which leads to process-product optimization.
- Develop real-time process monitoring. Analyze data for future process and product improvement. Connect data to overall manufacturing process.
- Initiate capital equipment projects, review, specify and implement new manufacturing components and extruder.
- Keep good documentary control of technical and manufacturing information.
- Adhere to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, standard work, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties
- Work well within a team, considering that he/she will interface with management, quality assurance, engineers, procurement, and manufacturing partners.
Skills - Must have a BS in Chemical, Plastics, or Polymer Engineering. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years experience in extrusion of plastic pipes.
- Good written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in computer MS Word, Excel, Project
- Working knowledge of DOE and SPC.
- Excellent communications, creativity, technical writing, and project management skills.
-Prior work experience in high pressure pipes in the energy industry is highly desirable.
-Familiarity with the properties of plastic films is a plus.
-Experience in lean manufacturing and six-sigma process is preferred.
