BASIC FUNCTION:
Maintain the Asset Management sub ledger processing asset additions, retirements and transfers. Analyze and explain significant variances in monthly depreciation entries. Peer review of monthly output. Assist with audit requests. Update Fixed Asset information posted to FTP site. Prepare various reports for HPA Supervisor and Manager to review. Serve as a liaison between the field offices and the Houston Corporate office on capital assets.

DUTIES:
1.Material Movement Records processing for assigned Unit.
2.Reconcile monthly PSAM to GL for assigned Unit.
3.Analyze monthly Net Change Report for assigned Unit.
4.Post the MMRs Logs every Friday to FTP site.
5.Prepare property Greenbook Schedules as required.
6.Provide support to region and field accounting personnel,answering inquiries on property issues.
7.Work with budget and forecasting personnel to review capital budgets for assigned Unit.
8.Work with internal and external auditors as needed.
SkillsEDUCATION:
Business degree with major in Accounting or commensurate experience and job related training.

EXPERIENCE:
1-3 years experience for degreed individual or individual with 2-5 years related work experience. Property accounting and PeopleSoft Asset Management experience a plus.

SKILLS:
Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and database software. Very good communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of moderately complex procedures and practices of accounting. Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and able to maintain good working relationship with co-workers. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to work hours needed to meet deadlines.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting procedures and systems.

INGENUITY:
Uses experience and company policies to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways. The incumbent needs to be able to review the work of others and offer guidance in a positive way.
