BASIC FUNCTION:
Works as part of team that performs global tax planning, generating substantive favorable impacts on cash flow, financial statement benefits and improving the overall profitability of the company. This individual will work under the guidance/direction of an Assistant Tax Director or Tax Senior Manager in the following areas/functions:

Conducts tax research and provides analysis and recommendations on a wide variety of projects and issues. Helps develop and implement tax planning strategies which impact the cash flow and overall profitability of the company, creating value in multiple tax jurisdictions. Will have interaction with other departments (including Legal, Treasury, Controllers, Marketing, HR and Planning), business unit clients and vendors in this process. Helps develop and implement long-term corporate tax strategy for the company.

DUTIES:
1. As part of team under the guidance/leadership of an Assistant Tax Director/Tax Senior Manager review and make recommendations on tax planning alternatives and tax-related business considerations with Management. Helps determines optimum tax plan, taking into account Management and Operational objectives. Tax planning function encompasses acquisitions, dispositions, liquidations, joint ventures and partnerships, asset restructurings, capital structure restructurings, new and existing operations, and financing transactions.
2. As part of team, helps develop and implement tax-efficient corporate structure and asset ownership.
3. Must be able to provide numerical and analytical support on tax planning projects.
4. Works with Tax Management on development of overall tax strategy for the Company, including strategies to maintain/reduce ETR over long range plan, positioning of Company on taxes in various taxing jurisdictions, and strategies to align operating and tax/financial goals.
5. Stays abreast of new or proposed tax legislation. Advises Tax Management of impact on Company and planning alternatives to avoid or mitigate any negative impact.
SkillsEDUCATION:
BS/BA/BBA in Accounting. Certified Public Accountant status or equivalent. Masters in Tax or JD a plus.

EXPERIENCE:
2-5 years overall tax experience with public accounting or corporate tax background. Must have experience with corporate and international tax planning. Must be able to provide numerical and analytical support on tax planning projects.

SKILLS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent tax research skills and creative and analytical thinking skills. Ability to communicate complex tax issues to non-tax audience. PC experience with Excel and Word required. Experience with Peoplesoft, TaxStream and Corptax a plus.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Individual must be personally motivated while also being able to collaboratively work with others to solve issues and problems. The tax senior must be willing must be willing to provided numerical and analytical support on tax planning projects at the request of the Assistant Tax Director or the Tax Senior Manager.
