Description A Reputed Oil and Gas Company is looking out for a HSE Assistant for their operations in UAE.

Principal Functions And Responsibilities:

Job purpose
The HSSE Lead is responsible for the correct implementation of the HSSE work scope related to LNG Project.

The key responsibilities of the HSSE - Lead of the LNG project are:
- Assure correct implementation of the HSSE plan during the execution of the project.
- An active contribution to the realization of the project HSSE objectives.
- Focal point for HSSE aspects for the construction and implementation phase.

Key Responsibilities
- Support and control the correct implementation of the Project HSSE plan.
- The primary focus shall be on the worker safety and health of Contractors as it related to safe working practices (PPE, workers camp, training).
- Support the correct implementation of the Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA) and Health Management (including the Health Management Standards).
- Assure the correct implementation of the Permit To Work system.
- Participate and contribute to Risk Workshops, Job Hazard Analyses, Toolbox meetings, Work Statements and other safety meetings with Contractors.
- Support the correct implementation of the (Medical) Emergency Response (MER) plan.
- In consultation with the Construction Contractor HSSE lead, assist in preparing and implement a Behavioral Safety Program, like Safety Awareness Training and Incentive plan.
- Participate in near miss and safety incident investigation as per the Investigation Procedure and assure the follow up of the recommendations.
- Report on a monthly basis the Project HSSE performance to the Project Manager and Stakeholders.
- Reports to Construction Manager.
- Monitor the HSSE performance of the construction work on a daily basis (hands on)
- Is the focal point for all HSSE issues related to construction safety.
- Overview Contractor safe work incentive system.
- Keep track on the safety walk program / audits (for housekeeping and unsafe acts conditions) and equipment.
- Reports deficiencies on contractor Safety performance immediately to the Construction Manager and / or Project Manager.
- Works with the Contractor to make them aware of industry best practices and safety guidelines that are specific to their discipline.
- Reports major Contractor performance and quality deficiencies to the Construction Manager for resolution.
- Brings any safety, environmental or security issues to the attention of the Construction Manager / Project Manager.
SkillsQualifications:
Interpersonal Skills
- An HSSE professional, preferably from the Middle East, with a fair understanding of the oil and gas business.
- Highly motivated and passionate for the subject.
- Preferably aware of the Shell and Local HSSE standards.
- Excellent team working, in order to help appraise, evaluate and advise other companies, authorities and other disciplines.
- Ability to respect and value all people’s contributions.
- Ability to work at a hands on level and willing to learn to influence management level as well.
- Ability to understand and prioritize simultaneous activities.
- Understand working in multi cultural environments.
- Well organized, structured and methodical.
- Good communication in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience with word processing in Word and Excel spreadsheets.

Technical Skills:
- A HSE professional, with a fair understanding of the oil and gas business based on OU experience in projects and/or operations.
- A minimum of 3 to 4 years experiences in managing HSSE in the line with this type of Project.
- Knowledge of relevant HSSE documents / programs, like ESHIA, FTW, PTW, HEMP, MER, SP
- Strong safety and environmental belief.
- The ability to identify and intervene in problem areas, well developed problem solving skills.
- Be able to participate on HSSE audits.
- Must be familiar with common safety standards, like scaffolding, working on or over water, confined space etc.
