| Description | Objective Summary: To be part of the maintenance team for the maintenance of mechanical systems in construction machinery & equipment in the yard and ensure proper documentation. To give paramount importance to job quality, safety practices and environment regulations. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Periodically review the preventive maintenance schedules and update the same as approved by HOD and strictly follow the same with respect to the maintenance of yard machinery and equipment. • Execute the break down mechanical maintenance activities in the yard facilities, machinery & equipment with the least possible down-time. • Strictly adhere to the approved maintenance procedure and ensure proper documentation of the maintenance activities and make them available for any internal & external auditors. • Properly update & maintain the Fixed Asset Register with respect to the yard facilities, machinery & equipment. Responsible for updating the same in the PCS system and be accountable for cost of spares consumed and man hours utilized. • Assist the HOD in the preparation of annual maintenance budget requirements with respect to mechanical maintenance activities, follow the guidelines and implement to minimize the maintenance expenditure. • Follow up on the requirement of rental equipment to optimize the utilization. Maintain equipment spares at the optimum inventory level. • Developing method statements & procedures where required for the activities assigned. Planning of manpower, material and tools requirement for the assigned activities. • Supervising the field staff and monitoring the maintenance activities to ensure that approved procedures are followed keeping the safety standards. • Coordinating with the production department and electrical maintenance section for the execution of maintenance activities and to coordinate with the other departments, including procurement, rigging, machine shop, warehouse, etc. for the day-to-day activities & requirements. • Identifying training needs among the field staff and arranging for the required technical training. • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. | ||
| Skills | Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 7 Years of Experience of which minimum 3 years in a large fabrication or marine construction yard maintenance. He should be able to execute the breakdown mechanical maintenance activities in the yard facilities, machinery & equipment with the least possible down-time. | ||
