DescriptionBASIC FUNCTION:
Assist as a team leader the Project manager for all projects which includes new construction, major modifications, upgrades and repair of drilling rig. The position include the responsibility and control of technical systems and associated project team assigned to him to carry on the project in accordance with agreed project objectives, design criteria, schedule and commercial requirement.

DUTIES:
1. Conduct and organize rig inspection to define project scope to meet project objectives
2.Represents the company at conferences and on technical committees.
3.As a team leader, Develop / supervise /coordinate basic and detailed engineering and define equipment required to fulfil the project systems in accordance with the design criteria (as defined for the project), class rules, and governmental regulations, Company policies and standards..
4.Follow up and solve any outstanding or warranty issues with vendors
5. Track , coordinate and support technical queries with vendors and shipyard
6.Interfaces and coordinate with Operations staff and others project discipline engineer. Attend / organize design review and operational meeting.
7.Prepare tender and issue RFQ to vendors to procure new equipment in accordance with Company policies. Negotiate with vendors and make recommendations and submit PO to management.
8.Inspect, follow up vendors and shipyard contractual commitments, work progress and expediting. Attend and record results of FAT. Follow up class or regulations issue on equipment. Ensure implementation of the design principles for the successful completion of the project.
9.Coordinate and witness project commissioning work test with shipyard or /and vendors
Skills QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. Major in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Ocean Engineering or Naval Architecture

EXPERIENCE:
5-10 years’ work experience with shipyard or drilling contractor, marine contractor/engineer, consulting engineer.

SKILLS:
Demonstrate expertise in the designated discipline and some management capability.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of drilling industry and oilfield equipment, work experience with drilling, and intimate familiarity with applicable codes.

SUPERVISION:
Persons directly supervised : up to 8

BUDGETS:
Value of equipment or system specified for Appropriation For Expenditure (AFE) projects: $0 - $10 million.

INGENUITY:
Must be self-motivated and possess superior skills to identify and solve unusual problems associated with improved rig performance, construction characteristics and safety. Has to have ability to ensure that all aspects of a problem are understood and effectively managed within the recommended solution. Must be able to perform with a sense or urgency, and highest ethical standards without sacrificing on accuracy and professional engineering practices.

DECISION MAKING:
Acts independently to reach sound technical decisions concerning structural integrity and details of rigs. Evaluates and recommends for manager’s approval all actions which have significant financial impact or operational consequences.
