| Description | Maersk Oil is seeking a high profile internationally experienced reservoir engineer for the Exploration & New Business Department. The department has an International focus and the candidate will be exposed to a wide variety of projects in Maersk Oil’s worldwide portfolio. The group is primarily concerned with conceptual life-cycle commercial evaluation of exploration projects, new business opportunities and portfolio value analysis. The position: You will be working in the engineering group in the Technical Services section of the department, as well as in cross-disciplinary exploration teams. You will be engaged in: • Working with multi-disciplinary teams of geoscientists responsible for maturing exploration and new business opportunities from Maersk’s global portfolio. • Defining and optimising subsurface development concepts and economic prognosis. • Undertaking analogous field performance and development reviews in support of identifying conceptual depletion plans and recovery factors for exploration prospects. • Conducting reservoir evaluations, predominantly using classical engineering methods and dynamic simulation where appropriate. • Working with cost and facilities group to define input parameters for life-cycle stochastic economic models. • Engineering Peer reviews. • Operational reservoir engineering support to exploration wells. | ||
| Skills | Qualifications: A proactive approach will be required in frontier areas along with strong analytical and communication skills. A solid background in “classical” reservoir engineering disciplines is required and exposure to reservoir simulation is preferred. Specific experience from International upstream oil and gas projects is required. Experience from the North Sea, Middle East, North Africa, and deep sea operations in West Africa and Brazil would be an advantage. Some knowledge of probabilistic methods is required and exposure to GeoX, Eclipse and commercially available data sources will be an advantage. As a minimum, we expect you to have a degree in engineering (a higher level degree is desirable) and relevant experience in a senior role. Proficiency in both written and spoken English is a prerequisite. | ||
