DescriptionMaersk Oil America Inc. is an upstream oil and gas company engaged in E&P activities in the deep water US Gulf of Mexico. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Maersk Inc., the North American business arm of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group.

Background:
Maersk Oil America Inc. is involved in the exploration in the deepwater part of the US Gulf of Mexico has a staff of approximately 25 employees. The geoscience staff uses Landmark, Schlumberger and Paradigm applications.

The Position:
- The Candidate will work with seismic sub-salt interpretation in Maersk Oil’s deep water Gulf of Mexico exploration projects, including current non-operated joint ventures, operated ventures as well as in farm-in evaluations.
- Work independently and with multifunction teams to perform high quality geotechnical and commercial analyses of regional plays, prospects, discoveries, and producing property acquisitions.
- To perform and ensure cohesive interpretation of seismic and geologic data, both across different geographic areas and from different times, including well logs, paleo, seismic, and pressure data.
- Provide consistency for input into play and prospect risk assessment.
- Perform and influence regional interpretations to provide a better understanding of regional petroleum systems and apply successful geologic concepts from other basins or geologic provinces.
- Represent the company and its interests in joint study teams, in technical meetings and in other capacities in Maersk Oil’s joint venture projects.
SkillsRequirements:
The ideal candidate has a master degree in earth science or another relevant education. The ideal candidate has relevant sub salt interpretation experience from the Gulf of Mexico.
