| Description | Reports To (Title) Application Design Evaluation Specialist or Business Segment Manager, general supervision, assists in bit application recommendations and bit proposal development and performs post well evaluations of bit performance. Responsible for helping to track product development projects and monitoring the area’s bit design requirements. Individuals at this level are considered a technical specialist for the organization for an assigned area of responsibility. Provides technical and operational assistance to both external customers and internal customers in a professional manner. Performs assignments, including the generation of technical papers and performance profiles, requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles, advanced bit technology concepts and basic drilling processes. Learns and utilizes project management skills in the organization and execution of project assignments. Participates in developmental programs to accelerate learning. Performance measurements are based upon successful commercialization of new products, revenue, inventory, and profit, based upon the business plan of assigned area of responsibility. Duties: • Supports the areas Product Development activities Monitor bit performance in an assigned area Assists in bit proposal development, bit application recommendations and post-well evaluation of bit performance at CASCADE • Provides technical and operational assistance to both external and internal customers Generates technical papers and performance profiles • Assists in handling operational and manufacturing issues in order to maintain and improve product and service quality • Learns and utilizes project management skills in the organization and execution of project assignments • Focuses on Reliability, HSE and Quality standards and techniques during the execution of assigned job functions • Participates in developmental programs to accelerate learning • Performs drill bit evaluation • Demonstrates ability to perform all AE Specialist functions • Assists operations personnel in various sales functions such as vacation relief, sales calls, rig site stays and product deliveries • Under general supervision: occasional supervision over repetitive tasks • New duties or project-type tasks may receive “Direct” supervision, depending upon the nature of the task Supervisory Responsibility of Job Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed Working Conditions Physical activity is normally required on the job, or requires exposure to the elements or job related hazards but not on a routine basis • Hazards are not severe Career Path Upward First level title above this job is Application Evaluation Specialist, Prin. | Skills | Completion of AE Development Program or equivalent experience Completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering, or similar discipline, with 2 years drill bit related experience Or Associates degree with 4 years drill bit related experience Or completion of 6 years industry experience including 2 years drill bit related experience Experience Completion of AE Development Program or equivalent experience Business Financial Training Sales Training | ||
