| Description | Duties: • Responsible for providing a comprehensive mechanical engineering support service to Plant Operations and Maintenance to ensure the integrity and reliability of the plant mechanical structures, rotating equipment and systems. To provide engineering input to all phases of project and plant change development and implementation. • Promote and manage Health, Environmental and Safety aspects of the work of all staff and contractors in accordance with Company’s PSM (Process Safety Management) OSHA based HES system. • Directly responsible for all mechanical engineering activities and for the work of the Sections and reliability engineers in support of Operations and Maintenance Departments. • To act as The Company’s Senior Authorized Mechanical Responsible Person responsible for plant mechanical design changes and modifications, and all aspect mechanical engineering support for Plant changes and projects from concept through to implementation and start up. • To ensure compliance with The Company’s Project Management Procedures (based on corporate PMP Project Management Procedures) and Management of Change (MOC) and (PSM) procedures for control all related Plant activities. • Ensure The Company meets internationally accepted mechanical engineering standards and best practices in design and operational performance. • To develop Mechanical Engineering strategies, procedures and standards and systems for sustaining plant integrity and reliability, working closely with the Senior Inspection Engineer. • To advise Maintenance Supervisors on the content of mechanical maintenance procedures for Plant structures and equipment. • Through the Reliability Engineering Section, pursue a programme of asset management excellence to maximize plant operational performance and long term integrity for all Plant. • Identify the developmental needs of staff and coach them to improve their knowledge and skills. • Assist in the recruitment of Section staff and the training and development of Equatorial Guinean graduates and technicians in order to meet Nationalization targets. • Manage the Section’s Capex and Opex budgets within targets. • Identify and sponsor Mechanical Section contracts and resource requirements, develop work scopes for approval, and monitor all contractor performance. | ||
| Skills | Mechanical engineering degree. A minimum of 15 years experience of engineering design work in support of construction projects and operations in the oil, petrochemical or LNG industry, of which 5 years must have been in a senior supervisory position. Experience in dealing with various country cultures and government representatives. | ||
