Description Essential Job Duties:
Reservoir Engineer for Oxy Permian

Oxy is the leading producer of oil in the Permian Basin of southwest Texas and southeast New Mexico, one of the largest and most active oil basins in the United States. Oxy's Permian Basin operations include interests in six of the 20 largest U.S. oil and gas fields and account for approximately one-third of the company's worldwide net production.

The successful Reservoir Engineer will work with a team of reservoir, production, geologists, and facility engineers, along with operations personnel and other technical experts, to optimize and develop the production of waterflood and CO2 flood fields.

Duties include:
Optimizing waterflood and CO2 flood performance, coordinating surveillance activities, assisting in tertiary studies, and designing, implementing, and post appraising cost effective and economically successful workover, completion, and drilling programs. Additionally, the successful candidate, depending on years of experience, will be responsible for mentoring less experienced Production Engineers.
Skills Required Qualifications:
-BS degree in Engineering. Masters degree preferred.
-Minimum 5 years oil and gas engineering experience with a significant portion as a production engineer.
-Demonstrated ability to use petroleum engineering theory to solve problems and identify enhancement opportunities
-Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and post appraise cost effective and economically successful workover, completion, and drilling programs
-Ability to interact effectively with team members
-Working knowledge of oilfield chemistry as it relates to corrosion, scale and paraffin deposition
-Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information
-Proficiency in performing economic evaluations of projects including risk analysis
-Proficiency in mentoring less experienced production engineers.
-Well developed basic computer skills including the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook. High proficiency in all required technical and economic software packages. Experience with DSS, OFM, and PEEP is a plus.
-Good communication skills, written and verbal.
-Planning and Execution of capital drilling programs.

Additional Desired Qualifications:
-Past experience in Permian Basin operations
-Past exposure to waterflood and/or CO2 flood.
-Background in evaluating and implementing conformance improvement projects.
