| Description | Essential Job Duties: Oxy is a growing, action-oriented exploration and production company continually striving to be one of the best in the business. The secret of our success has and will continue to be our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Geologist with our Asset Development Department at our Elk Hills business unit. Since the foundation of our business is a solid understanding of the subsurface geology, geologists are critical members of our reservoir management teams. Their primary objective is to identify additional development and exploration opportunities, and improve recovery from existing productive reservoirs. Geologists apply their skills and use state of the art tools to map and describe reservoirs, participate in volumetric and reserves estimations, and provide geoscience support to a fast-paced drilling and development program. | ||
| Skills | Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelors degree in geology. 2. Minimum of 8 years experience in petroleum exploration and developmental geology. 3. Proficient in all aspects of drilling, completing and reworking well operations. 4. Proficient in Landmark, OpenWorks, Zmap, and Microsoft Office Suite. 5. Enjoy working in an effectively challenging multidiscipline team environment. 6. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 7. Ready and able to relocate to the Bakersfield, California area. Additional Desired Qualifications: 1. Masters degree is a plus. 2. California (San Joaquin Valley) experience. 3. Proficient in petrophysical analysis. 4. Proficient in Petrel 3D Modeling software. 5. Proficient in reservoir description/core data analysis | ||
