| Description | POSITION SUMMARY: This position will provide global technical support and consultancy for offshore systems associated with Client' development projects and producing assets, requiring significant experience in fixed, floating and marine structures as well as risers, anchors and mooring systems. This position will require some domestic and international travel. ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Work with existing business units to optimize their existing operations by reviewing their existing facilities, providing troubleshooting expertise, and identifying potential new opportunities as they relate to offshore structures • Provide technical expertise to new development project teams to help evaluate/optimize different offshore system design alternatives • Develop and maintain Client offshore system standards, specifications and best practices • Identify potential new technologies and evaluate the benefits of incorporating them into new developments and existing operations • Participate in peer reviews and peer assists relating to offshore systems • Provide mentoring and training to less experienced staff regarding offshore systems • Audit the offshore systems design of Non-Operated Joint Venture facilities and influence their improvement • Perform or manage complex structural engineering calculations and other technical analysis of offshore system components • Participate in relevant external professional societies to stay abreast of emerging technology, industry trends and benchmarks, regulations, and best practices related to offshore systems | ||
| Skills | REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: • 20+ years of relevant industry experience including GOM offshore structures • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to work with multi-disciplined, multi-cultural teams • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management, technical and operations staff • Self motivated to learn and adopt new technologies, mentor others, and coordinate technology deployment • Proactive analytical skills with attention to details and process improvement SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS: • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and EXCEL EDUCATION/TRAINING: • Bachelor of Science degree (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • Professional Engineering Registration strongly preferred | ||
