Description of Commercial Director

The Commercial Director is a member of the Board. He is one of the main representatives of the Company and networks and interacts with customers, shareholders, Government Agencies, shipping companies, competitors, etc.

Responsibilities
• While reporting to the CEO overseeing all commercial aspects of the company’s operation
• Strategic and financial planning and competition analysis
• Developing and maintaining of business policies, systems, and processes
• Establishing and maintaining appropriate systems for monitoring and measuring business and individual project cash flow
• Development and approval of the annual sales plan
• Review commercial conditions of potential contracts at tender stage, identifying potential risk and implication to the business
• Key involvement in Contracting & Procurement strategy as well as guidance in contract execution.
• Monitoring tenders activities, approving concluded deals, and ensuring timely delivery of the contracted oil volumes to the customers.
• Managing departmental budgets by constantly reviewing the cost expended against the forecast costs, taking appropriate remedial action when required.
• Negotiate 3rd party gas contracts
• Ensuring that client's representatives are fully informed on progress and the current state of the contract
• Settlement of any claims arising from the commercial operations
• Ensuring good industrial relations, discipline, timekeeping and performance of staff.
• Leading, developing and motivating commercial team personnel.
• Represent the Company at all management and progress meetings called by the Company or the Client

Skills required for Commercial Director

Education
• The position requires graduate qualifications in Economics or a MBA. Undergraduate degree in a Process Engineering disciple is highly desirable

Experience
• Extensive senior commercial management experience in the international gas and crude oil and LNG markets
• At least 10 years of experience in supervisory positions in commercial LNG operations
• Solid understand of past and present contracts in the LNG market
• Reputation in the industry as a key player and industry leader
• Understanding of the various financial tools utilized in long term contracts
• Established contacts and a solid reputation in the Far Eastern market
• Familiarity with and keeping current with innovation in the industry
• Have an established network in the LNG industry
• Previous professional experience in Russia is desirable
Skills
• Strong commercial acumen, drive and creative thinking
• Effective communication skills both internally within the company and its parent company
• Ability to communicate with foreign companies and governments
• Leadership and effective interpersonal skills are considered essential
• Must be able to promote a customer focused approach and commercial thinking in a predominantly technically oriented company.
• In-depth knowledge of international gas markets, crude oil marketing, and shipping of LNG
• Must understand the underlying technical issues of technical upstream oil and gas production, processing, transportation, etc.
• Multi-cultural understanding and awareness
• Fluent English
• Russian language is a plus
