Position Overview:
With a clearly defined growth strategy and a diverse set of global operations, Talisman is driving a new initiative to strengthen our drilling & completion performance. The vision is to establish a central D&C group to focus on performance management, technical support and delivery of best practice on a global scale. Currently, we are recruiting for a Completion Technical Advisor role that will be responsible for providing completion technical support to the Global D&C Group.

This role will be responsible for:
• Team Integration, by supporting the global D&C network, providing technical completion expertise to Talisman’s global D&C operations, and championing organisational learning.
• Ensuring global peer reviews and risk assessments are conducted in a consistent manner and the programmes are safe and technically sound for key Talisman projects.
• In collaboration with the D&C Process Lead, develop and manage global standards and best practices for key well design processes including, but not limited to Well Control, casing design etc.
• Liaise with Supply Chain Management and identify key elements to deliver consistent global contracting strategy.
• Provide support to the D&C Performance Manager to identify and drive vendor KPI’s.
• At the request of the region, provide technical assistance to well operations activities relating to the design and execution of well delivery.
• Assist in RCA (root cause analysis) of significant business loss / HSE incidents.
• Assist in development of global completion KPI’s.
• At the request of the region, recommend solutions to problems and concerns related to well design and operation.
• Promote the effective utilisation of the Project Delivery System for Wells (PDSW) ensuring cross functional collaboration and governance.
• Identify and promote the use of technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and maximise potential reserve recovery reducing total well life costs. Liaise with Industry Peers and communicate to the D&C network ensuring Talisman stays abreast of latest innovations.
• Challenge existing designs and operational processes in order to apply best technologies and practices, and minimise operating costs.
• Participate and ensure global peer reviews and risk assessments are undertaken and the programmes are safe and technically sound for key Talisman projects.
• Support detailed investigations into specific completions problems.
• Support improvement projects as required.

Skills required for Completion Technical Advisor – Global Drilling & Completion Discipline

Education, experience, technical Skills [Degree/diploma, professional certifications, years of work experience and other technical skill requirements]:
• Engineering graduate with 15 years broad experience in completion operations both on and offshore (design, planning and operational execution), field experience is essential.
• Proven capabilities in problem analysis and solution development.
• Proven project management experience in multiple well projects.
• Strong analytical and interpretative skills.
• Must be skilled in the production of clear documentation and recommendations.
• Must be self-motivated, with good inter-personal and liaison skills.
