Description of Cost Engineer |
Position Summary: Provide cost engineering in project activities, including cost estimation, database management, progress and analysis, VOWD analysis, trend analysis, forecasting, variance analysis and budgeting. Also support the verification of costs that are charged to company in terms of contractual validity and conformance with contractual compensation provisions. |

Skills required for Cost Engineer |
Requirements: • Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent qualifications • Minimum of 10 years cost engineering experience with both fixed and variable cost analysis procedures in the oil and gas industry. • Minimum of 5 years experience with routine cost estimating methods • Must have experience and thorough knowledge in: - Cost control databases such as MS-ACESS and MS Excel Pivot Table - Using Work Breakdown Structures(WBS) and Standard Codes of Account (SCOA) - Reconciling VOWD estimates with commitments and actual costs plus accruals - Performing variance analysis and distinguishing between scope of work, currency, escalation and timing differences - Previous experience in reviewing contacts and extracting of relevant cost information for contract analysis is required |
