Description of Department Manager - Demand Management |
Job Scope: • Demand Management Department is responsible planning and consolidating demand for optimum running of operations and obtaining best commercial terms; keeping demand generation under control both in quality (appropriate specs) and quantity; driving a standardisation strategy aimed to reduce number of items, complexity and cost; setting optimum inventory rule to drive down committed capital, reduce infrastructure needs while providing service levels required by business. • The tasks of the Head of Demand Management Department includes: -Leading demand planning and execution team -Leading standardisation and specification team -Leading inventory management team Main Responsibilities: • Demand planning and execution: – Leads team responsible with driving planning and consolidation of Long Lead Items and consolidation for other strategic services for contracting purposes – Business owner of the approval Workflow (implementing approval matrix, monitoring lead times) – Implement system/procedures to drive optimum material choices in the field • Specification and standardization – Help build and manage team that coordinates specification and standardisation efforts for Domestic Assets by working with various technical experts throughout the organization – Coordinate team in charge with maintaining proper specification standards for all materials and implementing and enforcing proper specification for services – Lead effort to propose standardisation strategy, present to top management and drive implementation of agreed to strategy • Inventory management – Drives inventory strategy and execution required to achieve lowest levels of stocks given service level required for all stockable materials – unique responsible for inventory levels generated in Domestic Assets – Leads inventory reduction efforts, together with beneficiaries and Procurement – Drives accurate and efficient inventory management using best available systems SAP MM, MRP • Other responsibilities – Ensures that OMV / PETROM's HSEQ policy and procedures are implemented within his/her area of responsibility • Reporting duties: - Reporting Department activities and performance on an ongoing basis to Director of Domestic Assets - Interfacing with other departments instrumental in Demand (Procurement, functions) • People management: – Lead Department through professional example with highest standards of personal integrity – Assesses the performance of his staff and advises his superior and Petrom E&P-HR accordingly, in order to ensure a fair and correct performance based salary structure – Ensures sufficient function related trainings for his/her subordinates as well as the identification and development of potential management staff – Manages, motivates and develops directly subordinated employees |

Skills required for Department Manager - Demand Management |
• University degree in business administration, economics or engineering; oil and gas engineering background preferred • Min. 10 years experience in Oil and Gas industry • Experience in supply chain highly desirable (warehousing, procurement, inventory management) • Good understanding and previous experience with supply chain ERP systems (SAP MM, PM) • Prior experience in equipment standardisation preferred • Excellent understanding of oil and gas technologies • Highly strategic thinking and understanding link between demand operations and financial results • Overachiever; proven excellent managerial and leadership skills • Strong analytical and communication skills • Proven track record of achieving results • Excellent written and spoken English |
