Description of Dredging Specialist |
An International Oil & Gas Company in the Middle East is on the lookout for a Dredging Specialist. Responsibilities would be as follows: • To ensure that high standards and proper procedures are applied and practiced by consultants/Contractors on all phases of the Dredging Project. • To review and approve procedures and schedules initiated by EPC Contractor and Consultants for all dredging activities. • To review and select proper dredging methodologies as proposed by EPC dredging contractor. • To audit activities during dredging and ensure that contractor performance is in accordance with Company rules and regulations. • Follow up with the EPC contractor planning and progress on daily basis. • Support the effort of resolving the pending and punched items during project stages. • Fully understands the company HSE policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to area of responsibility. Ensures that work under control is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner. • Ensure safe, economic and technically sound decisions related to area of responsibility during the EPC phase. • Assist EPC Contractor in coordinating work with Port Authority and other third parties. • Review permit to work and ensure completeness of all requirements. • Perform additional work activities as directed by line manager. |

Skills required for Dredging Specialist |
• A diploma, bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Engineering from an accredited Institute. • 10-15 years post graduate experience in supervision and management of dredging projects at senior level. • Work effectively with peers in a multi-disciplinary environment. • Good command of written and spoken English |
