Description of Engineering Manager |
An Engineering Company specialized in Facilities Engineering and Procurement is looking for Engineering Manager - Nigeria. • Management of all Engineering’s activities. • Supervise engineering teams in Nigeria (2 engineers) and in the US (up to 15 engineers). • Project management for surface facilities projects, mainly oil flowstations, gasplants (dehydration, compression and NGL recovery) and pipelines. Interfacing with equipment vendors worldwide (mainly US). • Profound understanding of process and mechanical engineering; good knowledge of E&I, civil / structural and other disciplines related to facilities design. • Procurement of process equipment including preparation of PO’s, making sure that budgets and time schedules are kept by the vendors. • Quality assurance (checks) of detailed engineering documents and drawings prepared by the engineering teams in the US and in Nigeria. • Consultancy for marginal field operators and independent E&P companies; preparation of concept studies, advise on technical concepts, budget estimates (CapEx and OpEx for facilities), product sales and marketing strategies, economics. • Field visits (mainly Delta State, Port Harcourt, Akwa Ibom State). • Supervision of company’s finances, invoicing, management of tax and legal matters (supported by tax consultant and legal advisor). • Close collaboration with clients and clients’ representatives. Preparation of progress reports, work in clients’ offices, attend progress and project meetings etc. • Business development in and outside Nigeria (projects in Ghana and in Cameroon are currently pursued). • Day to day management of all operations (supported by admin officer). • Management of human resources (including hiring of personnel as needed) in Nigeria. |

Skills required for Engineering Manager |
• University degree in an engineering discipline • Profound understanding of Process and Mechanical Engineering • Good knowledge of E&I, civil / structural and other disciplines related to facilities design • Open to new challenges and ability to work in a difficult environment / hardship locations • Oral and written communications skills • Organizational and people management skills • Not less than 10 years experience with at least 5 in supervisory role |
