Description of Executive Geoscientist (Geology/Geophysics) |
PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd (Carigali) is a wholly owned Exploration and Production (E&P) subsidiary of PETRONAS, the national oil company of Malaysia. Carigali is actively expanding beyond the shores of Malaysia towards attaining its vision to be A Multinational Exploration and Production ( E&P ) Company of Choice Creating Value through Continuous Improvement and Growth. Currently, Carigali has expanded from domestic E&P company into a full-fledged international organization with interest in 25 countries mainly in South East Asia, Africa, Central Asia and Middle East. Job Description: • Carry out detail G&G interpretation and mapping integrating all available geological/geophysical data for regional play analysis, prospect evaluation, appraisal and development activities. • Design and conduct G&G modelling work and specialised studies by conducting systematic and integrated prospect and resource evaluation to reduce geological uncertainties and risks. • Provide technically sound proposals by conducting detailed acreage/block, prospects and assets evaluation as input for business decision. • Carry out detailed full field review of green and brown fields by generating accurate reservoir maps, stratigraphic correlation and structural cross-sections for reliable 3D reservoir modelling and characterisation to maximise recovery at effective cost. • Plan, design and supervise 2D/3D seismic acquisition, processing/reprocessing and other geophysical programmes and monitor work progress in order to get the best quality data for interpretation. |

Qualifications: • Degree / M.Sc / Ph. D in Geosciences (Geology, Geophysics & Physics) Experience and skills required: • 7 - 15 years experience in the oil and gas Industry • Knowledgeable in planning and executing seismic survey and processing. • On-the-job experience of integrated prospect evaluation and resource assessment with modern technology, maturing prospects and make decision for optimally drilling them cost effectively. |
