Description of Finance Director	One of the leading Metal Weapon Manufacturing company based in Germany is on the lookout for a Finance Director. Responsibilities would be as follows: • Provide accurate and timely periodic reporting, analysis and planning of all KPI's • Provide reliable administrative support to the operation of the group’s division with regards to finance aspects and coordinating overall P&L. • Cost control activities and initiatives across the company & its subsidiaries. • You will also be closely involved with-suggesting improvements to corporate finance, ERP system, policies and procedures, business dimensions, etc. . • Overseeing all external audits, be it by government agencies or by the statutory auditors. The planning of the year-end audit and contact with the appointed auditors • Participating in meetings with parent company CFO and the advisory board members in managing the company's business. • Budgeting and forecasting of the company on a consolidated basis. • Working Capital Management, particularly close follow-up on customers receivables. • Company controllership through appropriate metrics, consistency and accuracy of accounting processes across the operations, and safeguard of assets. • Responsibility for statutory compliance. • Oversee and consolidate the Month-end, Quarter-end and Year-end financial and management reporting of Merkel and its 2 subsidiary companies for internal as well as external customers. • This includes reporting in IFRS-compatible formats as well as HGB formats for local German banks. • Monitoring monthly inter company recharges by assuring they are done in a timely manner • The oversight of the company’s US subsidiary in Alabama • Oversight of all personnel matters, including in exceptional cases, negotiations with the works council and the trade unions. • The oversight of the IT function with two employees and an integrated ERP/ Finance system • A hands-on approach will be necessary to cover all of these functions and reporting requirements.
Skills required for Finance Director	• A qualified accountant (preferably ACA / CPA and CMA) with more than 10 years experience (minimum 5 years in a Finance Manager role) for a large group or a large conglomerate business. • The candidate must be flexible and experienced to deal with the international challenges faced in this job. Some international travel will be required. • The candidate must be fluent in both English and German and have experienced working in an IFRS environment. • The candidate with manufacturing experience particularly in the metal-working industry and, or experience in the auto industry would be preferred.
